Our Vibrant History

The journey of Sidney Glass began on April 15, 1990, when Dennis Blundell of Chadron, Nebraska, approached Kurt and Judy Adden with an opportunity to manage a glass shop in Sidney. With a spirit of adventure and dedication, the Addens accepted the offer and made their way to Sidney. Dennis, residing in Chadron, would offer his assistance to Kurt as needed.

As demand for their services grew, the need for more space became apparent. In 1994, the Addens made the bold decision to purchase a new location at 1129 Illinois St in downtown Sidney. That same year, Harlan Darin from Benkelman, Nebraska, acquired Sidney Glass.

Under Kurt's management, Sidney Glass flourished, earning a reputation for exceptional workmanship and service within the community. In 1999, when Mr. Darin opted to sell the business, Kurt and Judy Adden stepped forward as the new owners, marking a significant milestone in the company's history.

The Addens relocated the business to 909 Illinois St, where it stands today as a testament to their dedication and commitment to excellence. Over the course of 34 years, they built lasting relationships and took immense pride in establishing Sidney Glass as a trusted name in the industry.

In 2024, a new era dawned as Nic Haas assumed ownership of Sidney Glass from the Addens, who decided to retire and devote more time to family. Nic shares the same values of small business and its importance in rural America. Alongside his skilled team, Nic is committed to upholding the legacy of Sidney Glass and serving the panhandle of Nebraska for years to come.

At Sidney Glass, we honor our past while embracing the future. With integrity, craftsmanship, and community spirit as our guiding principles, we look forward to continuing our tradition of excellence and making a positive impact in the lives of those we serve.
